By Application
Packaging machines vary in complexity depending on a number of factors,
these include, the type of product being packaged, the number of operations
required to form a completed pack, the number of products per pack, the
product and pack sizes and the speed of product/pack output required.
To generate a complete pack it is necessary for packaging machines, either
as single machine or a combination of machines in a packaging line, to
posses six main attributes.
- Product infeed
- Packaging material infeed
- Pack forming operation(s)
- Product and pack integration
- Pack closing operation(s)
- Pack outfeed
Packaging
equipment can be categorized into five main groups on the basis of
application:
The majority of packaging lines have some aspect of each of the five
categories. The majority of filling machines will have pack closing
equipment integrated in to the design of the machine.
